NARRATIVE TEXT, TIMUN MAS

Timun Mas Once upon a time, there lived an old widow who wanted a daughter to live with her in the village. Knowing her wish, a giant came to her house. He gave her a cucumber seed. The giant said that there would be a baby in the cucumber. She promised to return when the child was sixteen years old. The widow planted her seeds in the garden. The next morning, a cucumber grew. He cut the cucumber and found a baby girl. The widow was very happy and named her baby Timun Mas. Day by day, Timun Mas grew into a beautiful woman. The widow remembered what the giant had warned. So when Timun Mas was sixteen, he told him to go to the forest with a bag filled with salt. "Don't let the giant catch you," the widow shouted to Timun Mas who ran into the forest. Mariam Nur Fairiza 24 X IPA 3 Martha Christina Tiahahu Martha Christina Tiahahu (born in Nusa Laut, Maluku, 4 January 1800 - died in the Banda Sea, Maluku, 2 January 1818 at the age of 17 years) is a girl from Abubu Village on Nusalaut Island. Born around 1800 and at the time taking up arms against the Dutch colonialists was 17 years old. His father was Kapitan Paulus Tiahahu, a captain from Abubu country who was also Thomas Matulessy's assistant in the Pattimura War in 1817 against the Dutch. Martha Christina Tiahahu is noted as a unique freedom fighter, namely a teenage daughter who immediately entered the battlefield against the Dutch colonial army in the Pattimura War in 1817.
